Now that you have a solid idea about how you want to purchase your first Hermes handbag and have considered the options of both new and pre-loved bags, you are ready to start shopping! However, you want to make sure you get value, a good quality handbag, and one that matches your wardrobe! Here are some tips to help you achieve just that:

Condition

Many women venture into the secondary market for value when purchasing a Hermes bag and the most important consideration when looking at pre-loved Hermes bags is the condition. At Baghunter, we implement a condition guide to help our clients evaluate the condition of each bag. Bags are rated as either pristine, excellent, very good, good, or fair depending on general wear and tear, scratches, leather and skin condition, and other factors. Using the condition guide in tandem with the pictures of the bag can help you understand the exact appearance of the bag before you make the purchase.

Color

Many first time buyers will play it safe and look at colors which match their whole wardrobe such as black, beige, gold, or brown. However, one of the traits which make Hermes handbags unique is the wide range of colors available, many of which are specific and exclusive to Hermes. Purchasing a black Birkin may be convenient for your wardrobe, however, a bright pink or red bag will stand out more and is less likely to found elsewhere. It will also hold its value for longer if you wish to upgrade in the future. Have a look at our color guide here.

Leather/Skin

It is so important to know your leathers when purchasing a Hermes bag. Each leather has its own unique characteristics and each leather requires different levels of maintenance. Some of the standard leathers such as Clemence and Togo are textured to protect them from scratches and general wear and tear. Exotic skins such as crocodile, alligator, lizard, snake, and ostrich are high maintenance, but also much more rewarding visually. You can find our leather and skin guide here.

Don’t Settle for Less

A common problem with first time buyers is that they just want a bag so badly they settle for the first one they see in their price range. The joy of holding your first Birkin or Kelly can become greatly diminished if you settle for less. To avoid this disappointment, utilize services such as our VIP Club which provides priority access to all of our consigned handbags as well as a personal shopping service to help you source any luxury bag in the world using our network of contacts.

Replica Prada is En Route

I hope you joined us last time when we talked about Jennifer Garner’s Gucci bag, and we’re going to keep these designer handbags coming with another batch of great bags, Prada handbags. Jenn’s designer bag collection is pretty impressive, especially since she doesn’t seem like the type to care too much about high fashion. Her handbags are on the more conservative side, choosing to go with more simple and sophisticated designs over flashy and intricate. Either way, we at replicaguide love Prada bags and Jennifer’s are absolutely stunning!

I’m so sad to see this week end, especially since I had so much fun looking through photographs of this week’s featured celebrity, Katy Perry. Well, although we have to end it somewhere, I’m glad that we get to end the week with one of my favourite designers. The Prada brand has some of the most varied designer handbags in their collections. I happen to really love Prada bags, and I’m sure that Katy Perry agrees since I will be showing two replica handbags from her collection. I hope you had as much fun as I did this week, so let’s check out which Prada Katy Perry loves the most!

Replica Prada handbags are extremely chic, and Rihanna certainly nailed it with this outfit. She actually looks a lot more conservative than she usually does in this photograph, but I love her nonetheless. Prada designer handbags can pull any sophisticated look together, something that I’m sure RiRi is quite aware of. Too bad a Prada designer bag is too expensive for my lifestyle, however, I do have another solution for us girls who have to live on a budget.

Gucci Information Guide

Gucci's historical bags

With luxurious craftsmanship and meticulous design, Italian-made Gucci purses reflect the house’s commitment to fine quality and opulence. Gucci handbags come in an array of styles, from satchels and shoulder bags to totes and backpacks, further accentuated by stunning Gucci wallets for women.

Look to Gucci handbags to elevate your cool quotient: Every design is decked out in fabulous ornamentation. Bamboo handles (a signature in many Gucci designs) add a rustic beauty to ladylike style. Top-handle bags offer versatility with a removable shoulder strap and working padlock and key. Need something dressy? Shift your attention to a brilliant GG shoulder bag with a chain strap; it brims with elegance and edge. The fashion house’s hallmarks are subtly imbued in all its designs. The signature web pattern, for instance, is often used as a backdrop to stunning layers of beaded and embroidered motifs.

How do you choose just one Gucci handbag? It’s nearly impossible. See for yourself at Neiman Marcus, and shop our extensive, irresistable selection of Gucci purses.

The house of Gucci as we know it today was established in 1921 by Guccio Gucci as a leather goods/luggage store in Florence, Italy. Many of Guccio’s Italian clients were local horse-riding aristocrats, and their demand for riding gear led Gucci to develop its unique Horsebit icon and many other symbols of equestrian origin. Mr. Gucci developed an understanding about how much the world of horses meant to the rich and privileged, and thus aspired to use equestrian imagery in many designs.

During Mussolini’s reign in Italy, expensive materials were hard to acquire so Gucci began using innovative materials on vintage Gucci handbags such as canvas, jute and hemp to create handbags and luggage. These materials are still used to create luxury handbags, luggage and clothing.

Tom Ford became Creative Director of Gucci in 1994. By bringing his uniquely glamorous visions to Gucci, sales increased by 90%. In 1999, Gucci entered into an alliance with Pinault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR – now known as Kering), transforming itself from a single brand company into a multi-brand luxury group. Tom Ford and Dominco De Sole (then President and CEO of Gucci) formed the “Gucci Group” under the subsidiary of Kering, who also owns primary shares of Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and other luxury brands.
